Superbolt® Application:
D-R Compressor; Connecting Rod Nuts
Problem:
Installation
and removal of connecting rod nuts on this compressor were difficult because of
the high torque requirements with only limited access for tools. Traditional methods
of snipes and hammer wrenching proved inaccurate, time consuming and unsafe.
Solution:
Original
nuts were replaced with Superbolt ‘MT’ style torquenuts, allowing mechanics to
install both top & bottom nuts by hand.
